MINI has announced a special model to mark the 60th anniversary of the launch of the iconic original Mini.
A limited run of 500 ‘MINI 60 Years Edition’ vehicles will be available in the UK from March 2019, priced at £29,990.
Built in the UK at MINI Plant Oxford, the launch of the special car isl be the first of many celebrations planned for 2019.
It will feature a new British Racing Green paint colour, contrasting black roof and wing mirrors, specially designed bonnet stripes, two-tone 17-inch lightweight alloy wheels, plus a set of spot lamps fitted to the front radiator grille.
The 60 Years emblem completes the vehicle, uniquely placed on the left-hand bonnet stripe, side scuttles of the turn indicators and LED logo projection from the driver’s door.
There are more emblems inside, while the seats are finished in Dark Cacao leather with contrast seat stitching and piping matching the new exterior paintwork.
Standard equipment includes an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth connectivity and wireless smartphone charging, plus a rear-view camera and parking sensors.
The MINI 60 Years Edition is powered by the 2.0-litre petrol engine and seven-speed automatic gearbox from the Cooper S, accelerating from 0-62mph in 6.7 seconds and on to a top speed of 145mph.
