Pure electric McLaren launched

McLaren Automotive has unveiled its first 100% electric vehicle – the diminutive McLaren P1.

Now available, but only to a limited group of potential customers (those under the age of six), the open-top car features a central driving position – just like the iconic McLaren F1 – and McLaren’s signature dihedral doors.

The car surges into life via a one-button stop/start function which automatically activates the lights. There’s also an MP3 player and audio system as standard, plus it features a reverse gear in addition to its three speed, forward transmission. Handy if you’ve arrived at the wrong playground.

Capable of a top speed of 3mph, the ride-on Mclaren P1 is available in just one colour (Volcano Yellow) from selected McLaren retailers globally for £375.
