Preston: UK’s classic car capital?

New research seems to suggest that Preston in the north west is classic car central.

The surprise claim is based on analysis of collected data for 45 cities across the UK from the website of classic car insurer Carole Nash Cherished over a 12-month period.

Preston sped ahead of every other city in the country, with Norwich coming in second on the list, followed by Bath, Manchester and Cambridge.

“Annual events such as the Lancashire Classic Car and Motorcycle Show could go some way to explaining why the city is so enthusiastic about vintage vehicles” said Dawn Holmes from Carole Nash Cherished.

“On the whole, it’s encouraging to see so many people passionate about classic cars across the country.”
