Tomorrow’s World from Toyota

Final design of Japanese car giant’s hydrogen fuel cell vehicle revealed.

It may not look it, but this is probably the future of motoring.

Toyota has released details of its landmark car – one of the first FCV’s to go into mass production.

The pioneering four-door saloon will be launched in Japan in April 2015, followed by Europe and North America in the summer.

It will cost around seven million yen (approximately £40,450), while prices for Europe and North America have yet to be announced.

Initially sales will be limited to those parts of the country where a hydrogen refuelling infrastructure is under development.

The car appeared in concept form at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show. It looked a little sexier, but it’s not looks that matter with this car – it’s what’s underneath the bonnet.

It’s expected to have a range of 500 miles on a single tank of fuel, 0-60mph in 10 seconds, refuelling will only take three minutes – and only give off water vapour.
