Jaguar has unveiled its all-new F-PACE SUV during a record-breaking stunt above Frankfurt.
The F-PACE, which Jaguar has dubbed “the world’s most practical sports car”, was driven by British stunt driver Terry Grant on a specially built structure.
Months of planning went in to the challenge which resulted in an official Guinness World Record for the largest ever loop-the-loop.
The F-PACE withstood extreme forces of 6.5G as it completed the giant 19.08 metre tall loop and Jaguar says the feat showcased the car’s “exceptional performance, agility and strength”.
Developed using Jaguar’s Lightweight Aluminium Architecture and manufactured at Jaguar Land Rover’s Solihull Plant alongside the Jaguar XE, the F-PACE range starts at £34,170 and will go on sale from spring/summer 2016.
It will be available with a range opf petrol and diesel engines with a supercharged 380PS 3.0-litre V6 petrol, capable of 0-62mph in 5.5 seconds, topping the range.
On a practical level, the F-PACE features a spacious, luxurious cabin and large 650-litre luggage compartment.
To celebrate the launch of the all-new F-PACE, a special model called the First Edition, priced at £65,275, will be available in strictly limited numbers and in the first year of production only.
Powered exclusively by the 300PS 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine, the First Edition will be distinguished by a unique metallic paint colour – Caesium Blue.
Jaguar’s Director of Design, Ian Callum, said of his latest creation: “The Jaguar F-PACE is an SUV with the soul of a sports car. When we created this car we thought differently; we took a Jaguar sports car and made it family friendly.”
