Lexus takes to the seas with £3 million yacht

The transformation of Lexus into a luxury lifestyle brand has moved up a gear with the unveiling of the stunning LY 650 yacht.

The Japanese car maker has teamed up with with Marquis Yachts and Nuvolari Lenard to create a distinctive 65ft flybridge cruiser – a boat design that locates cabins below the main deck.

Featuring a sumptuous salon and three berths, and finished with exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail, the LY 650 has been in development for just two-and-a-half years.

Capable of up to 31.4 knots with twin Volvo Penta IPSTM engines, extensive use of advanced carbon fibre composite materials during the construction process has allowed it to benefit from light weight and high strength.

Lexus Chief Branding Officer and President of Toyota Motor Corporation, Akio Toyoda, said: “The LY 650 symbolises the challenge Lexus has taken up in its aspiration to become a true luxury lifestyle brand, venturing beyond the automobile.
