Spot the difference – Porsche releases the first pictures of the refreshed new Cayenne.
Meet the new Cayenne – a car that’s evolving in true Porsche style. And it needs all the help it can get because it’s competing against the Audi Q7, Range Rover Sport, BMW X5 and X6.
Porsche claims it’s a “sports car among sport utility vehicles (SUVs)” because “besides offering five seats and extensive features, the Cayenne offers a lot of room for a lot of driving fun; combining high performance and typical Porsche design DNA”.
The original Cayenne was launched in 2002, and more than 276,000 examples of the first generation (2002 to 2010) were sold, along with 303,000 second generation cars.
The new generation of the Cayenne will be launched in five versions – Cayenne Diesel, Cayenne S, Cayenne S Diesel and Cayenne Turbo.
The Cayenne S E-Hybrid will become the first plug-in hybrid in the premium SUV segment. This model, together with the Panamera S E-Hybrid and the 918 Spyder, makes Porsche the world’s only car manufacturer to offer three plug-in hybrid models.
As well as subtle design tweaks, the new Cayenne will feature more power and better fuel economy.
The new Cayenne is on sale now, priced between £49,902 – £93,763, and expected to arrive in Porsche’s UK showrooms from October 11.
