Volvo delivers its first-ever van

Volvo EX30 Cargo

Volvo Car UK has expanded its EV line-up with the introduction of the EX30 Cargo – a new car-derived van designed specifically for business and fleet customers.

Developed from the fully electric EX30 compact SUV, Volvo says the new Cargo delivers additional practicality and load-carrying capability, while retaining the comfort, technology and safety of the passenger car.

Priced from £36,010, the EX30 Cargo is available through Volvo Car UK’s fleet sales channels, and there are two variants – the EX30 Cargo and the EX30 Cross Country Cargo (which offers additional ground clearance).

Four powertrains, with outputs ranging from 148bhp to a whopping 423bhp, can be specified. The latter gives the passenger version a 0-62mph time of 3.6 seconds, so expect this version of the van to be super speedy.

All-wheel drive is also available, while up to 300 miles of range is on offer, along with 10-80% charge times of less than 30 minutes.

To create the cargo bay, the rear seats have been replaced with a flat floor and an access panel to the lower floor, maximising the payload to 390kg with a load capacity of 1,000 litres.

A specially designed payload bulkhead separates the cabin from the cargo area, while modified rear side panels and doors increase available load volume.

“While we are best known for our passenger vehicles, we recognise that business owners and fleets also want the quality, safety and technology that Volvo is renowned for in a compact commercial vehicle too, which is why we created the extremely practical EX30 Cargo,” said Jack Munford, Head of Fleet at Volvo Car UK.
