Nissan glows to world record

Nissan has broken the Guinness World Record for Largest Glow-in-the-Dark Painting.

Created by maverick motoring artist Ian Cook, of Popbangcolour, the 207.68m2 self-portrait of the 100% electric Nissan LEAF took 61 hours to create and used more than 60 litres of luminous acrylic paint on a giant PVC coated canvas.

Earlier this year, Nisssan became the first motor manufacturer to apply UV absorbing paint onto a production car.

The paint absorbs solar energy by day and then releases it for up to 10 hours overnight… and it’s made entirely from organic materials.
