Reborn Britsh sports car maker TVR has announced that it will reveal its long-awaited new car to the public at the Goodwood Revival on September 8.
To celebrate the marque’s 70th anniversary, the £90,000 high-performance car will be accompanied by a display of historic TVRs.
Created in conjunction with Gordon Murray Design, the 1200kg car promises 200mph performance and 0-60mph in less than four seconds.
Powered by a 5.0-litre Cosworth-developed V8, the car will go on display in the ‘Earls Court’ building at the Revival between September 8-10.
To coincide with the Goodwood Revival announcement, TVR has released a teaser image, which doesn’t give much away, but does showing a meaty side exhaust. An artist’s impression (below) created in 2016 shows what the new 2017 TVR could look like.
With only 500 Launch Edition cars earmarked for production, TVR will soon stop taking further orders until the public unveiling.
“We are incredibly excited to be unveiling the new car at the Goodwood Revival,” said Les Edgar, TVR Chairman.
“It’s the first time a global launch of a new car has occurred at the event, and it seems an entirely appropriate place for us to do it, with the marque’s motorsport heritage and an enthusiastic audience of dedicated car fans – and in our 70th anniversary year.
“After a series of secret private viewings organised for the benefit of existing customers for the new car, we know that we have a surefire hit on our hands, and very much look forward to seeing the public reaction in September.”
