The first BMW i8 to be sold at auction will be offered by BCA Auctions on February 23.
BMW’s hybrid supercar is one of the world’s most desirable vehicles, and yet a 64-registered i8 with just 52 miles on the clock will be offered in the Top Car Sale at BCA’s Blackbushe site in Surrey.
Finished in white with 20” Turbine alloy wheels, the specification includes air conditioning, Carpo Light white leather interior, navigation system, parking sensors, a Harman Kardon sound system and Surround View Cameras.
Demand for the i8 is so high that used models have been selling for hefty premiums over the list price of £99,845.
The 155mph i8 blends a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with an electric motor for a combined power output of 357bhp.
It takes just 4.4 seconds to hit 62mph from a standing start, yet it has a battery-only range of 23 miles, which is enough to cut official CO2 figures to just 49g/km and qualify the i8 for exemption from London’s congestion charge.
BCA Blackbushe is located on the A30 between Camberley and Basingstoke with easy access from J4A of the M3. BCA is the UK and Europe’s largest vehicle marketplace.
