First pictures of the second generation Hyundai i20 are released ahead of its October 2 global debut.
This is the car that Hyundai hopes will square up to Britain’s bestselling car, the Ford Fiesta, when it goes on sale early next year.
The Hyundai i20, which was designed in Europe (and it shows), will take pride of place on the Hyundai stand at the Paris Motor Show in October.
Just like its little brother, the i10, it looks like Hyundai has worked wonders inside. The wheelbase is 4.5cm longer than its predecessor and it has “class-leading interior space”. That said, the body overall is now 6.6cm longer than a Ford Fiesta.
Hyundai also says the i20 will feature a “a unique-in-class panoramic sunroof”, able to tilt and fully open, filling the cabin with natural light.
A pretty new front end and a black C-pillar that gives the impression of a floating roofline at the rear are among the design highlights.
